The Tweeting Pothole
The Tweeting Pothole is an interesting use of Twitter and Internet of Things technology from Panama.
By putting internet-connected sensors into potholes visible and repeated pressure was put on the government there to do something about the state of its roads. The Tweeting Pothole sends a complaint tweet to the Department of Public Works’ Twitter account.
It’s an innovative use of technology that has sparked much social media activity. It lends itself to visual content and provides an outlet for disgruntled drivers to report problems. Expect it to find its way to the UK soon.
